2009 Ann Arbor Kids’ Triathlon and Fun Run

Kids Ages 7-10: swim 100 meters, bike 2 miles and run .5 miles

Kids Ages 11-14: swim 200 meters, bike 4 miles and run 1 mile

Who:  Everyone! There’s fun to be had by all… including the kids enjoying the triathlon, parents and spectators cheering them on and even the youngsters too young for the triathlon.

When:  July 5th

The start of the first wave of kids will be at 8am. The fun run will be held after the final athlete has crossed the finish line, with refreshments and awards held after the fun run

Where:  The event will take place at Huron High School and offers a great course for participants and nice opportunities for parents and spectators to be able to cheer on the kids and friends.

Why:  The event provides safe, fun and affordable opportunities for kids up to the age of 14 years old to learn more about ways to be healthy and active. More importantly, all proceeds from the Ann Arbor Kids’ Tri are donated to the Trail’s Edge Camp, which is a non-profit organization that gives children who have had tracheotomies or need ventilator assistance the chance to experience a normal summer camp experience, which most are otherwise denied. The camp has no cost for the campers and is a completely volunteer based. In previous years, we have been fortunate enough to have raised thousands of dollars to benefit the lives of these children as well as the children who participate in our triathlon!
