Get the Most Out of Your First Triathlon of the Season

As a club, we're dedicated to preparing you to be at your best for the first triathlon of the season. Therefore, we've set up the following two events for you. Read on! This is exciting stuff! --Rusty

Power Test, 4 Indoor Training Sessions on Cycle-Ops Plus Outdoor Course Clinic: $129 for Members
Marc Mueller of Heart of a Warrior is offering Ann Arbor Tri Club members a special 4-week course designed to help you get the most out of the biking leg of your first triathlon of the season. (I can personally attest to the high quality and effectiveness of training on the Cycle-Ops. It's great!)

This course is designed to prepare you for the demands of the bike leg on your first triathlon of the season. Specifically, the timing and content of the course is geared toward the bike course of the Ann Arbor Triathlon on June 8.

The training consists of:

* Power Performance Test: to set baselines for training and to assist in further fitness evaluations.
* Four Individual Weekly Rides: on the Cycle-Ops at the Heart of a Warrior studio scheduled at your convenience.
* Actual Course Clinic: ride the course and develop race strategy/tactics to ride your best on race day

Marc adds: "Let people know that there are limited spaces available in the course. They may sign-up with me by calling (734) 665-5063 or e-mail me at heartofawarrior@comcast.net. The Tri Club's meeting on April 24th will also be a great place to sign up and ask me any questions. The training will begin the week of April 28th and I will need those who have yet to take the Power test to do so prior to that week I think this will be really fun and everyone should feel very prepared come race day."

Club Practice Triathlon on Saturday, May 31st:

Another way to get the most out of your first triathlon of the season will be to participate in the Ann Arbor Tri Club's practice triathlon on Saturday, May 31. This will be a **FREE** fun way to get into the swing of things. Details are still being determined, but at this point we're planning to hold the event at Silver Lake near Dexter (where we have our Friday evening open water swims.) We'll have an open water swim, a bike ride, and a trail run, topped off with food and refreshments at the end. This will only be mildly competitive as the focus is practice. The event takes place a week before the Ann Arbor Triathlon, so it's a perfect opportunity to try on your wetsuit and get in the swing of the summer season. Email our Vice President, Emilie, for more details: 'emilie@aatriclub.org'.
