UPCOMING EVENTS

Sunday, August 24th: Power Cycling Camp by Heart of a Warrior!
Don't miss this! Marc Mueller, club sponsor and owner of Heart of a Warrior, is offering a Power Cycling Camp at Aberdeen Cycle in Chelsea. Here are the details:

"I wanted to let the club know of a One day PowerCycling Camp I will be offering Sunday Aug 24th. The camp will operate from Aberdeen's Bike & Fitness in Chelsea and the cost of the camp is $159. Included in the camp fee is a bike tune-up and bike fitting that they would schedule with Aberdeen Bike before the camp date.

The camp schedule is as follows:
7:30am-8am Arrive at Aberdeen
8am-9am Pre-Test Preparations
9am-11:30am Power Threshold Road Test
11:30am-1:30pm Lunch
1:30pm-2:30pm Power Training Discussion & Review of Test Results
2:30pm-5:00pm Coached Interval Ride w/Power Meter

"Participants will receive special discounts on clothing & accessories at Aberdeen and Power Training services from Heart of a Warrior.

"This would be a great opportunity for someone to learn about how the use of Power will help them to train smarter and race faster. Getting a gauge on your fitness at the end of the season will help you to create goals and develop an off-season plan. In the spring you can then re-test and see how effective your off-season was.

"The camp is limited to 10 people to insure personal attention. Please have people interested email me at heartofawarrior@comcast.net or call me at 665-5063. For additional information on PowerCycling visit www.powercyclingusa.com"

Thursday, August 28th at 6:30pm: Brick at Cadence Cycle followed by *FREE* Wheel Clinic!
Come meet at Cadence Cycle at 105 E. Michigan Avenue in Saline (734) 429-3700 for a brick workout followed by a really cool wheel clinic. Owner Jon Sherman will have maps, snacks, and beverages available.

Jon writes, "Cadence is proud to sponsor a "Triathlon Tire Clinic" that will include support from major tire suppliers Continental and Vittoria area reps. This clinic will include information about the differences in their tire lines, what makes a "great" triathlon tire, what makes a "great" training tire, and most importantly, how to mount/install both clincher (tires with tubes in them) and tubular tires (non-tubed tires) both from the comforts of your own home and during the race. How about tire pressures? Glue or Tape?? Does Pitstop really work??? Butyl vs Latex???? So many questions?!?!??!

"Bring your own tires and let us show you how to install them! We hope to disspell any rumors and myths about what makes a great tire and what is truly the fastest and most reliable type of tire for triathlon races, long or short course. In addition to Continental and Vittoria tires, you will be able to see first hand some new, yet to be released products from Louis Garneau, Bell, Giro, Look, and more!

"Also to include the normal "Cadence" hospitality and fun! Did we mention discounts??? All products will be available at an EP (employee purchase) price (or close to it) for those interested in stocking up in tubes and tires for the races/training ahead!"
