Konnichiha,
I have no idea how to say "members" in Japanese, and it's not a very
popular question on the googles. However, I feel Japanese is
appropriate, as I am trapped in southwestern Indiana for work (Toyota.)
The good news is that I'm working night shift, so I have a good chance
to work out in the middle of the day in the heat. The bad news is I
don't have a bike, and thus can only run outside, leaving me prey to
the local fitness establishments. I may have completely overwhelmed the
receptionist at my chosen facility (called "Bob's") with my questions:
How many lanes are in your pool? Do your bikes support SPD? Are there
any hills within, say, 2 miles?
Soon I will be back from this bizarro land, hopefully in time for the brick. In the meantime, you should sign up for MERCRS races! E-mail me or Tom for more info.

Now for the workouts for this week:

Thursday, 18 June
Brick
- Brick is at Huron Bridge Park. Meet in the second parking lot, and be ready to ride at 6. Here
is the route, less dirt roads. Bike is ~26.3 miles and run loop is 1.5
miles. If you are worried about the distance, please let me know, and
I'll do what I can to find an alternate route (though I'm not making an
promises you won't end up on a dirt road, because I don't know the area
that well.)

Friday, 19 June
Swim and Run
- Come join us for a swim in Silver Lake
(map here.)
Meet
at 6:30 by the picnic tables close to the second parking lot. Swim
course is a quarter-mile out and back. I'm not sure of the water
temperature these days, but I'm willing to bet the temperature is still
below the mark for wetsuit legal. So bring 'em if you have 'em. Also,
bring your
running shoes, and try your luck against the world-famous Pinckney deer
flies. You better run fast, or they'll getcha.

Saturday, 20 June
Morning Run Sponsored by Running Fit
-
Club partner, Running Fit, sponsors a 6-8 mile run starting promptly at
9:03 a.m. out of Gallup Park. Meet at the picnic tables in the second
parking lot (over the bridge.) If you have any questions about weather,
distance, etc., please contact our dashing workout coordinator, Sean (seangeary@yahoo.com.)

Running Fit offers perks for showing up weekly, starting with a free
water bottle after 6 runs and working up to a free tech shirt after 18.

Long Ride
- Some of our IMLoo crew will be doing a 4.5 hour ride
around 18-19 mph. All are welcome to join, though I must warn you, we
are aiming to ride in the hottest part of the day for heat-conditioning.

Sunday, 21 June
Outdoor Ride
- Take a spin out to Chelsea from
Newport Elementary. Address is 1701 Newport. Ride will leave at 8 (it's
going to be a scorcher on Sunday.) Volunteers for ride leader would be
greatly appreciated.

Tuesday, 23 June
Tuesday Night Track Club Workout
- Partake in
the Track Club's speed workout. NEW/OLD LOCATION: Workout is back at U
of M this week. Warm-up starts at 6:30, and workout starts at
7:00. This week - 6 x 3 min. fast; 1 min jog.

That's all for now. If you have any questions, concerns, complaints, etc., let me know. That's what I'm here for.
